Year One and Our EPs: The Short Records

We've always been good at saying a lot in a short space of time. Our EPs are where that started, and some of our designs come straight from them.

What is Year One?

Year One (2001): a collection of our first two 7" records. Its tracks include The Ice Age Is Coming, which lasts just 35 seconds, and Please Die!.

In the shop: The Ice Age Is Coming and Please Die both take their names from it.

Which EPs have we made?

• American Nightmare (2000)
• The Sun Isn't Getting Any Brighter (2001)
• Love American (2003)
• Live in London (2003)
• Life Support (2020)
• Dedicated to the Next World (2023)

In the shop: The Sun Isn't Getting Any Brighter sets the EP's title under a splattered script version of our name.

And the first album?

Background Music (2001): our first full album, on Equal Vision. Its tracks include "There's A Black Hole In The Shadow Of The Pru" and "Farewell".

Why start with the short records?

Because that's how we write: fast, direct and over before you've caught your breath. If you're new, play an EP first, then pick the design that matches it.
